Customize Your Facebook Like Button More Specific

Facebook Like (F Like) button is one of the most popular features provided by Facebook Social Plugins. It is used to express our opinion to our Facebook friends that we like a page in a site and suggest them to read the page.


For example, if you like this page, then you can press/hit F Like button and tell your friends listed in your Facebok friend's list to read this page. Do you know how to customize this F Like button work in a more specific items in your page, rather than in a page itself?

Suppose that your page has one or more pictures, and your friends or visitors like one of the pictures, then they can press/hit F Like button to this picture. With these more specific F Like buttons in a page, visitors or your friends may like not only the page but also the detail contents of your page also.
















F Like button works by placing the script or syntax as followed:

Number indicates the total Facebook user. It means, total Facebook users who like Viva Edmund Blog. What if you want to like the picture or image in a page, e.g below?

As explained above, you must know the location/address of this image. Hover your mouse inside the fried bread picture and right click it. Choose image properties, left click mouse to the address, right click to copy, and press Ctrl-V to any Windows based application such as Word, Notepad, Excel, etc. You have gotten the address: http://s3.amazonaws.com/readers/2010/12/25/copy-of-pict2460_1.jpg. Replace Your URL in the script above with this URL adress to get the script below and put it under the image (or where-ever you like):

Weakness

There is a weakness to apply the above script to a specific detail in a page. When you share your F Like to your Facebook friends, you may read in your Facebook Wall-the URL address that is not all your friends/readers understand. It is because the specific address of the detail does not have HTML meta tag title for that. If it does have, then the F Like in your Facebook Wall wil dsplay the title and easy to read by your Facebook friends.
