How to Download Your Free Yahoo! Email Service Into Ms Outlook


As we all know, Yahoo free email service does not have POP3 feature to download email messages to clients’ computer disk. All email messages are saved in Yahoo server, in which it is difficult for us to read them while the internet is off. Yahoo POP3 feature can only be applied by those who pay for that.


However, for those of you who have free Yahoo email need not to be thwarted. If you are lucky, you can still apply this Yahoo POP3 feature, free. Why I said lucky, because for emails registered in 2010, you can not apply this feature (I have tried but it is useless). One thing for sure, email registered before 2010 can still apply free Yahoo POP3 feature.

Follow these steps carefully and don’t get rush:

  1. Sign in to your Yahoo email account
  2. Click Option in the right corner above, and choose Mail Options.
  3. Click Account Information
  4. Go to Account Settings and choose Set language, site time zone menu.
  5. Choose the Regional Site and Language into Yahoo!Asia. Adjust time zone as necessary. Click Save button. Close and click Back to Mail button. I suggest you to sign out from your Yahoo email account (just to make sure that change in Account Setting has been saved in Yahoo database server).
  6. Now repeat steps 1 and 2 only.
  7. Choose POP & Forwarding menu, choose Allow your Yahoo! Mail to be POPed option and click Save Changes button.
  8. Click Back to Mail button again. Finish?? Not yet, buddy… Sign out from your Yahoo email account first, and open your Microsoft (MS) Outlook.
  9. Click Tools menu, choose Email Accounts…
  10. Choose Add a new e-mail account option and click Next button
  11. Choose POP3 option-Connect to a POP3 e-mail server to Download your e-mail and click Next button
  12. Fill in the data as follow:
    1. Your Name: Your human readable name
    2. E-mail Address: your Yahoo! email address
    3. User Name: your Yahoo! email address
    4. Password: your email password
    5. Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.com
    6. Outgoing mail server (SMTP): contact/ask your internet service provider
    7. Click More Setting button
  13. On the Outgoing Server tab, put a check mark next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
  14. Click Advanced tab. Set the Incoming server (POP3):110 and Outgoing server (SMTP):25
  15. Click OK button. Click Test Account Setting… Everything should be OK, indicated by green check marked
  16. Click Close button, click Finish button. Your Yahoo! Mail in MS Outlook is ready to receive and send email now.
